Falling in Love with You

When was the last time you fell in love with yourself?

I mean truly fall, like Alicia Keys, head over heels in love with you. I’m not talking about the last time you walked past a mirror and had to double back, like, ‘who is this fine person in my mirror’? I’m also not referring to those times that you admired your smooth-even skin, pretty hair, six-pack, flat belly and Kardashian hips. All of these are great. I’d take a flat belly and those hips if someone was handing them out. Lool.

What I’m on about is those moments you caught the twinkle in your eyes, or smiled at a memory and just happened to catch that in the mirror. How about those times when you looked right into the eyes of your reflection and said: I love you. I am proud of you. You are beautiful. You are amazing. You are blessed. You should try it sometime if you haven’t already. It works wonders.

Validate Yourself

It’s great when you have someone validate you and tell you all the wonderful things you want to hear about yourself. I get it. It makes your blood tingle and your lashes curl. But you see here, it is absolutely powerful when you are doing the speaking to yourself. I kid you not, once you really get into it, you begin to hear the music in your soul. You start to feel much more beautiful. You add on more swag. You change how you walk, and even how you talk. Your world responds more to you. You start to feel like you can be or do anything. And you fall in love with yourself all over again.

Here’s how you can make it even more real. Pretend you’re holding your hands, looking right into your eyes and speak from within. Serenade yourself with all the beautiful things no one has ever said to you. Remind yourself of the wonderful stuff that no one tells you anymore. Remind yourself how powerful you really are. You were made in God’s image after all.

Have you tried it yet? How did you feel afterwards?

This is a great reminder to not always look at my flaws but actually look at them from a different angle and learn to love them also. Thanks Miji
