I’ve met people with really great ideas. When it comes to execution, I find that many people imagine that because they came up with all the ideas by themselves, they are equally equipped to carry out the tasks that follow, also by themselves. The conversion from idea to execution is not as easy outside of collaboration.
Think Collaboration! You don’t have to do everything by yourself.
Hear me out. You might have the talent, skills and expertise to do it all but do you have the time to perform all tasks maintaining a consistent quality from top to end on each task? Without burning out? I understand that for many, there are such concerns of people stealing your ideas, keeping all the profit, and so on. But, hang on a minute. There’s another way to look at this.
Think Collaboration! It is the grease that ensures smooth runs in business.
Depending on your brand and services, you can collaborate with others to produce a fuller, more impressive, and a more beneficial product for your clients. How can you go about this?
Break down your tasks and activities to bite sizes. This will help you to disseminate more easily.
Identify you areas of strength and the parts where you need the help of others
You can plan your process flow such that it starts with you and ends with you. That way, you can ensure you’re setting the standard and quality for your customers.
You can build a community of teams, freelancers, other businesses that you keep a relationship with for continuous collaborations. One of the benefits here is that you have access to a pool of resources that is always available to you. Also, you all can recommend each other when the other needs your expertise.
Consider that your clients might be better off when you collaborate with others instead of handling it all by yourself. It has nothing to do with your capabilities as an expert. It’s okay to admit that you could do with the help anyway.
