In my country, a 50 year old is largely considered a ‘youth’ even though we are all very much aware of the fact that the official retirement age here is 60.
How did we all agree that there is only one way to be educated – sitting behind a desk for 6-3-3-4 years, writing tests and exams and collecting a certificate at the end of it all?
“Read your books and pass your exams. You will get a good job”. We believed this was the recipe for success. When we grew up, we learnt differently. It worked for them but by the time it got to our turn, it was a whole new reality.
